Melissa is the Chief Clinical Officer at Help Texts, where she leads the company's research efforts and oversees all subscriber support, text development and customer care. She holds a Ph.D. in International Psychology with a Trauma focus, as well as an MBA and Master's in Psychology with a clinically trained background. Additionally Melissa is a Certified Thanatologist.
Prior to joining the team at Help Texts in 2019, Melissa had 20 years of experience in program conceptualization, training, and curriculum design focused on grief, loss, and trauma. She's developed programs and products for organizations in healthcare, academia, youth-based NGOs, and many other grief and loss-related industries. Melissa is adept in childhood bereavement, bereaved students, young adult grief, suicide prevention/postvention, traumatic loss, and theory. She is a published academic writer and peer reviewer, and an international speaker and well-known contributor in the bereavement field.
