Michelle Brown, LMFT, PMH-C

Therapist and Perinatal Mental Health Professional

After experiencing a significant death in high school, Michelle knew she wanted to become a therapist. This path began at San Diego State University with a major in Psychology and continued at Alliant International University San Diego with a degree in Couples and Family Therapy. Some additional education Michelle has completed includes a 10 month postgraduate course in fertility counseling, Level 1 Internal Family Systems Therapy training, and Certification in the Mothercentered Approach. Early in her career, Michelle was a Hospice therapist where she provided group, individual, couple and family therapy.

Upon finishing graduate school and becoming a California Licensed Therapist, Michelle married her husband and they welcomed a baby boy. It was then that Michelle noticed a lack of knowledge and resources on maternal mental health and she studied to become a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional. Michelle's practice has followed her passion of supporting men and women with managing the stressors of infertility, grief, pregnancy and postpartum. Michelle is an Executive Board Member and Chair of the Mental Health Committee at Michelle's Place: Cancer Resource Center.
