Palliative Care Nurse Practioner
Dr. Elena Prendergast is a healthcare leader specializing in palliative care nursing. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Master of Science in Nursing, as well as national certifications as a family practice and advanced palliative care nurse practitioner.
Dr. Prendergast combines her clinical expertise with a passion for education and advocacy. She is is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Augusta University, is trained as an End-of-Life Doula, and advises on veteran-focused end-of-life care education. She also serves as a palliative-care consultant, and helps individuals and their families navigate quality of life during serious illness through her consulting business, Tree of Life Health Consultant.
Dr. Prendergast has held leadership roles in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), including as inaugural co-chair of its Hospice and Palliative Care Community. Known as a natural storyteller, she connects deeply with her audience through her rich professional experiences.
