Duane France, MA, MBA, LPC
Author & Therapist
Duane France is a retired United States Army Noncommissioned Officer. After 22 years of service, including tours of duty with the 82nd Airborne Division, service as an Army Recruiter at Fort Meade, Maryland, and five combat and operational deployments, he became a clinical mental health counselor serving veterans in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Throughout his extensive military and civilian experiences, Duane has adhered to the principle: "Audacity is the key to victory in battle." His unique blend of experiences has made him a successful mentor, advocate, and counselor to his fellow Veterans. As a Mental Health Therapist and Advisor with the Colorado 4th Judicial District Veteran Trauma Court, Duane has become a Veteran Mental Health Thought Leader. He uses his expertise daily to bring awareness to Veteran mental health and act as a voice for his fellow brothers and sisters in arms.
Recognizing the common challenges veterans face and the lack of understanding among those who wish to support them, Duane started the Head Space and Timing Blog. He believes that difficulties such as unemployment, homelessness, and transitioning challenges are intrinsically linked to mental health. Duane's mission is to ensure that Veteran mental health does not go unnoticed and he is always open to conversations that support Veterans on their path to wellbeing.
