Help Texts: Radical Bravery In Action

What does radical bravery look like in end-of-life & grief care?

Radical bravery means showing up for the hardest conversations, meeting people in their darkest moments, and refusing to let anyone navigate death or grief alone—especially those whom our systems have overlooked.

In honor of End Well's theme this year, we wanted to share why we believe Help Texts is radical bravery in action:

We meet people where they are: No appointments. No apps. No asking for help. Clinically sound support arrives when it's needed most—in their pockets, in their everyday lives.

We reach those left behind: Men looking for an alternative to support groups. Adults over 65. Rural communities without counselors. Non-English speaking families. The people traditional grief support often misses.

We normalize grief as part of being human: By offering ongoing non-invasive support, we send a powerful message: "Grief is expected. You're not broken. This is part of being human."

We make support radically accessible: 28 languages, 61 countries, any phone, no internet required. Because geographic location, income, or language should never determine who gets support.

We challenge the status quo: While healthcare chases complex technology, we leverage the simplest, most accessible tool—text messages—to reach the most people.

If radical bravery is about showing up, even when it’s hard - then Help Texts is radical bravery in action.
